The Return of the Funk God: GRiZ
“a playground where you can dance under a technicolor canopy and experience interactive art.”
After a year-plus-long hiatus, GRiZ is back, and making his return in spectacular fashion. The beloved electronic bass and funk artist, born Grant Kwiecinski, has been a defining force in the EDM scene for decades, known for his high-energy performances and signature sax-infused sound.
From Michigan’s underground to headlining premier festivals like Electric Forest, to his current home, Colorado’s Red Rocks, GRiZ has cultivated an immense following. His impact extends beyond music, with his annual GRiZMAS event raising over $400,000 for Detroit charities focused on music education for children annually.
GRiZ has announced his return with the Seven Stars Festival, a three-day event scheduled for October 10-12 in Arrington, Virginia. Check out the details at www.sevenstarsfest.com.
A Cosmic Experience
With performances across three stages, workshops, yoga and other adventures, Seven Stars is sprinkled with magic. There’s even a stage called Ouroboros, inspired by GRiZ’s 2023 EP of the same name, which is “a playground where you can dance under a technicolor canopy and experience interactive art.” Fans can expect a carefully curated lineup blending bass, funk, and experimental electronic music, creating a weekend of magic.
Aside from GRiZ himself, who is set to perform three different sets over the weekend, Seven Stars has an impressive mix of talent booked, including:
Of The Trees
Artifakts
Chmura
Maddy O'Neal
Subtronics
Ravenscoon
Tape B
And more.
I know I speak for so many in the community when I say that we have missed GRiZ’s energy, saxophone solos, and unmatched ability to bring people together through music, so let’s welcome him back with a bang.
You can secure presale tickets here starting Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
